Check context, subtitle timing, center crops, and the final exported file before publishing.

A short clip must make sense without the full source video. This checklist is an editorial tool, not a promise of higher retention or recommendation traffic.
Listen from just before the selected start. If the speaker says “it,” “that,” or “they,” identify what the word refers to. Either include the reference or choose another opening. Listen beyond the selected end so you do not cut away a qualification or correction.
Illustrative example: “This costs $20” followed by “per user, per month” cannot be shortened to only the first sentence without changing the meaning.
First check accuracy against the audio: names, quantities, units, negatives, and technical terms. Then play the exported clip at normal speed to check timing. A correct sentence appearing after the speaker finishes can still be difficult to follow.
For translation, preserve units and named entities and ask a fluent reviewer to check ambiguous language. Translation confidence is not a replacement for understanding the speaker.
Subtitle time starts at zero in the exported clip, not at its position in the full video. In an illustrative clip starting at source time 42 seconds, a sentence beginning at source time 44 seconds should appear around clip time two seconds. Check the actual export boundary; rounding can shift the timing.
A center crop can remove an off-center face, slide label, or product detail. Watch the whole clip, not just the first frame. If the important subject leaves the crop, revise it in an editor or choose a different passage. Veckit's current reframe does not track faces.
Use a phone-sized preview. Keep subtitles clear of the subject and the destination app's interface. Check contrast against both dark and light frames. There is no universally safe caption position: controls and previews vary by platform.
Check duration, audio, first and last frames, subtitles, and whether the file is the intended clip rather than the full source. If captions are burned in, turn off external subtitle tracks during review so you verify the visible text in the video itself.
